Eleftherios Karabatsakis is the co-founder and CEO of PlugSecure, the first cybersecurity platform for EV charging networks. A serial entrepreneur in the e-mobility space, he previously founded and led an EV service provider that was later acquired by PPC Group, the largest energy group in Southeastern Europe. His firsthand experience with a cyberattack became the catalyst for building PlugSecure. Today, he works with CPOs, EMPs and OEMs to identify vulnerabilities, prevent fraud, and harden infrastructure against evolving threats.
Behind the Plugs: Real-World Threats in EV Charging
While EV adoption accelerates, most charging networks remain exposed to threats that go far beyond theoretical risks. From roaming fraud to backend vulnerabilities and insecure charger configurations, the consequences range from lost revenue to systemic disruption. In this session, PlugSecure shares field-tested findings from real penetration tests across several networks and lays out what CPOs, OEMs, and EMPs need to do to defend the future of e-mobility.
