Building Fun, Engaging MOOCs Learners Actually Complete

Arizona State University collaborates with diverse organizations to leverage technology to foster community, lifelong learning, and societal well-being. For these youth-focused platforms, our courses are asynchronous, non-facilitated and have completion rates (25% to 60%) that are significantly higher than the average MOOC (3% to 6%). Using the Open edX Platform as a Country-Wide Higher-Ed LMS: Project Start-Up

Empowered by 5 years’ experience building custom front-end experiences using the Open edX platform and other integrated technologies, Arizona State University has recently embarked on a collaborative project to build a custom portal to serve an African country’s higher education network (50 public universities), including both an Open edX LMS and a SalesForce-based SIS.
