As the Director of Next Tech Girls, Emily's ambition is to inspire young girls - especially those from ethnic minority and/or lower income backgrounds - to pursue a career in the tech industry.
Over the last 10+ years Emily has experienced a variety of roles in tech, including front end software development, social media management, user research, training as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach.
She's spent most of her career so far in government, primarily the Ministry of Justice, coaching teams and programmes to deliver accessible online services. She also led their Digital directorate’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, increasing representation of all minoritised groups between 2017 and 2018 and winning a Civil Service Diversity & Inclusion award for Employee Excellence Network.
