Endah Bongo-Awah is a DevOps engineer with a remarkable and unconventional journey. Born and raised in Africa, Cameroon into a family committed to education. She is a devoted wife and mother of three, embodying the essence of balancing career and family.
Endah moved to Germany in 2007 after her Bachelors in Cameroon. After motherhood, she embarked to pursue her master's degree in Business Economics at the University in Hagen. Being a student, a wife and a mother with 3 children below the age of 10, was a very engaging phase of her life. She graduated in 2018 and was the valedictorian of her batch.
Endah worked with the KfW Banking group for 2 years. During that time she proposed an IT related idea to slow down climate change which ignited her underlying love for IT. The idea was amongst the 3 best, which was further developed and presented to the board at the Bank. The idea didn't win, but a dream was born. A cloud computing enthusiast with an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
Endah embarked on her IT journey in 2020, demonstrating her fearless pursuit of new challenges. She is 2 times AWS certified, an AWS Community Builder and a board member of Cloud Heroes Africa (CHA). CHA was a non for profit Organization with the sole purpose of training Africans on modern cloud computing technology for free. Founded in 2021, CHA has over 1000 Students, 60+ AWS Cloud Practitioner certified 30+ AWS Solutions Architect Associate, 3 AWS Solutions Architect Professionals and more.
Currently employed as a DevOps engineer at RTL Deutschland, helping to shape the future of Germany's leading entertainment Industry. She is a vocal advocate for diversity in the tech industry, especially underrepresented groups. She regularly mentors aspiring IT Professionals from Africa. Her journey from economics to DevOps engineering is an inspiration to those who dare to dream and break barriers in the world of technology. Let us all meet in the cloud
