Bulletproof Design Systems en

The hardest part of Design Systems is neither the coding nor the deploying; it’s the adoption.
Encouraging teams to use it and to integrate it as part of their workflow is no easy task and it is the key to avoid the dreaded “Failure of the Design System”.

In this talk, we are going to explore multiple tools and strategies that will help you and your teams increase the adoption of your design system across your company. From simplifying testing, to smooth implementation and maintenance.

Join us to make your design system truly bulletproof.

Cryptography for lovers 💘 en es

The role of cryptography in the tech world is undeniable, but… how is it possible that encryption methods dating back to 1900 BC are so important in the 21st century? How can a random number, defeating the Nazis, and Bitcoin be related?

In this talk, we’ll take a trip back in time, not only to understand the value and workings of cryptography but also to discover how we can send secret love messages, encrypted, on a simple little piece of paper.

Take on me, web browsers! en

In 1985 pop music was mesmerized by the a-ha “Take on me” music video. It’s been almost 35 years since then, the world needs new catchy tunes with impressive video animations… on the web.

In this talk we will explore the bewitching ways we can modify web videos and create immersive experiences worthy of the ‘80s using JavaScript and CSS. Let us swim in the why-not possibility of Chroma key, Rotoscoping and more video animation techniques on the web platform!

Tales of Accessibility Failures en es

We hope for our web applications to be as beautiful, performant, and accessible as possible; but sometimes... Things get in the way and the outcome is not as good as we hoped. In this talk I'll walk you through a few of my failed attempts at developing accessible web applications. We'll go through different accessibility assumptions and myths that I wrongly believed to be true and how to avoid them by properly testing for accessibility.

This talk aims to be a reminder about the fact that, more often than not, inaccessible applications are a result of lack of knowledge, not lack of caring. That it is ok to make mistakes, but it is also essential to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Oda a la década++ es
