I am new to Cerner, having only started this January. I was hired to help enable the Power Bi Community at Cerner. Previously I have worked for both the City of Kansas City and Kansas City Southern Railroad. I am also currently in the Army Reserve and have been on both active duty and reserves for the last 15 years.
Flexing the Power of Power Bi
Topic: Creating an Interactive Power Bi report highlighting the newest Power Bi features in 30 minutes. The subject of the presentation would revolve around creating a report using both public and Cerner data which would help executives drive decisions around optimization of the on-sight vs work-from-home workforce. The intent would be to pull data sets on historic seasonal flu/coronavirus effects on the workforce, along with datasets that monitor increases in Doctor visits regionally and nationally.
Goal: Allow executives to monitor possible outbreaks of sickness both regionally and nationally, driving quicker responses such as only allowing essential workers to report physically to Cerner locations.
Features: The tools I would focus on would be: Q/A, Web Scraping Data by Example, Calling API’s, User Personalization of Visuals, User interaction, creating and connecting to a Date Table, creating a simple star schema, quick and easy Dax calculations.
Audience: Report creators and especially report consumers wanting to understand how they can interact with data in ways that create insight for their teams.
