Fabian has spent 25 years building fast, accessible websites – and now shows developers how to get that same quality out of AI tools.

He has optimised web technologies from the moment they shipped, always obsessing over one thing: how fast a page feels to the person actually using it. And no era comes close to how exciting this one is.

The new Google tools will build you an excellent website or a shockingly bad one — the difference is knowing what good looks like. YouTube shows you the demos. Fabian teaches the setup that produces the golden ones: accessible, fast, and running in every browser.

He builds that way for a living, too. At Speed Kit he creates AI agents that automate web performance testing — production systems, not weekend prototypes — going deep on the tools that survive that standard instead of skimming fifty.

A Google Developer Expert for Web, Fabian has given 15+ DevFest talks across Europe and North Africa in the last two years. Generous people taught him this craft, and passing it on is a pleasure. You'll find him talking with attendees before the talk, after it, and usually until someone locks the venue.

AI-Native Web Development, Hands-On

The way we build for the web just changed: AI no longer only autocompletes code — it builds a real page, runs it in the browser, tests it, and fixes its own mistakes. In this fully hands-on session you'll experience that shift firsthand, going from a blank screen to a modern web page you designed and shipped live, all in one sitting. Whether you're a student making your first real project or a professional modernising how you work, you'll leave with something real online and a way of building you can put to use the very next day.

Venue & technical requirements

- Projector (HDMI or USB-C)
- Workshop-style seating: tables and chairs, so participants can work on their laptops
- Power outlets within reach of every seat (or extension cords/power strips)
- Stable Wi-Fi for all participants
- Participants bring their own laptop — this is a hands-on session

No special software on the venue side — everything runs on the participants' machines.

Agentic Coding, End to End: Plan, Build, Ship, and Keep Going

A 4-hour hands-on workshop for anyone new to agentic coding — working developers curious about the shift, career-starters, bootcamp grads, students, and career-switchers alike. Attendees run the full pipeline themselves — spec → design → build → deploy — using the production Google toolchain (Antigravity, Gemini Gems, Stitch, Cloud Run). They leave with a working, deployed site of their own and a real mental model of how to drive an AI agent end to end.

What sets this apart: most workshops end at the door. This one doesn't. Every attendee gets ongoing access to a living online student guide — with deeper chapters on prompting, memory, recovery, and spec-driven workflows — plus a Discord community of past attendees and instructors to keep building, asking, and shipping after the room empties.

Bring a laptop. No prior AI or cloud experience required. Cloud credits provided at the door — no credit card needed.

DevFest Cairo

With over 2,500 attendees, this was the largest DevFest I attended in 2025. I gave two talks: one in the auditorium and another on the main stage. My presentations covered leveraging the latest web standards for instant website loading, and strategies for students to launch their careers in the age of AI.
