Fahim Maksud Shaikh is a Chemical Engineer, Materials Researcher, and Manufacturing Quality Professional specializing in advanced manufacturing, materials characterization, process optimization, and data-driven quality engineering. He currently serves as an Engineering Tech III at Tesla, Inc., where he contributes to quality engineering and materials characterization activities within advanced battery manufacturing operations.

He holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Uka Tarsadia University, India, where he graduated as a Gold Medalist and University Top Rank Holder.

His research spans advanced composite materials, thermal degradation, sustainable energy technologies, and manufacturing quality prediction. His graduate research investigated the effects of long-term thermal aging on carbon fiber–bismaleimide composites, focusing on mechanical performance, material degradation, and reliability. He has also contributed to research involving supercritical water oxidation, carbon capture technologies, and process simulation, with an emphasis on improving industrial efficiency and sustainability.

With experience spanning academic research and industrial engineering, Fahim is particularly interested in integrating materials science, manufacturing process data, and predictive analytics to improve product quality, reliability, and operational performance.

His research achievements include receiving Second Prize at the 2026 CSULB Student Research Competition and presenting research at technical conferences. Beyond his technical contributions, he has demonstrated leadership as President of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) student chapter, Associated Students Senator for the College of Engineering, and Graduate Student Advisory Council member.
