My name is Florian Schweizer, but I am probably better known as “Flo writes Code”, which is the name of my Twitter and Youtube accounts - places where I share what I have learned, how my indie development efforts are going and other things related to Apple platform development. SwiftLeeds 2022 was my first ever conference and I started it off with a BANG: my first talk in front of hundreds of developers. I'm a researcher and PhD candidate in the area of digital medicine and spend a lot of my time building Apple apps to support medical efforts and increase physical activity. Let's meet at the next conference!

CI/CD (Continuous Improvement, Continuous Discovery) or: How you can become a better developer

The Apple ecosystem is known to outsiders for its simplicity and ease of use. From a developers point of view that is a different story - with WWDC introducing incredible amounts of new features and APIs each year, new devices coming out and new hardware features being added to existing devices. People who have been developing in this ecosystem for a while will know that learning and finding out about new features, frameworks and tools is just as important as writing actual code is. Over the past years I have tried out many different approaches and in this talk I share those approaches, highlight what worked for me and give concrete examples to motivate listeners to expand their knowledge and try out new ways to learn. The talk also covers how you can reflect on your own code and how sharing can make you a better developer, no matter if you’re an indie or working in a company.
