I’m a Developer and Partner @ flowing. I’m also a speaker at tech conferences and meetup. I’m the author of “Frameworkless Front-end Development” and “Decision-making for Software Development Teams”. In my free time, I like to relax playing with my Playstation or cooking some strange ethnic dish for my wife.

Framework Compass Chart

I think that right now as JavaScript developers we are in one of the most lively communities out there. We have a lot of power with React, Angular, Vue and so on. So how should we choose the right framework for our new shining project? And what does it mean to choose a framework “in a right way”?

Ubiquitous Language in the frontend world

We all know the importance of Ubiquitous Language to remove the friction between the vocabulary between domain experts and developers. In many years of consultancy, I noticed that in many projects frontend developers tend to ignore Ubiquitous language, creating their own dictionary. During this talk, we will analyze the pitfalls of this approach and how to solve this issue.

Keep the User in your Domain Model

DDD adopters are very good in modelling complex domains, they define Bounded context with their relative Ubiquitous Language, they use EventStorming to do collaborative modelling with domain experts. But there is one important actor that most of the time is absent in any modelling session: the end-user. In the talk, we will explore what kind of problems may emerge if we keep ignoring the user in our domain modelling and how to fix this bad habit.

How to tackle legacy code with Architectural Clash

The purpose of the talk is to introduce a new format designed to tackle legacy code and technical debt. This format is called Architectural Clash. We will analyze the principle behind the format and some successful use case in which this format really helped our team to deliver value to an existing codebase.

Frontenders, you’re working with CQRS/ES without knowing it!

CQRS/ES is a very interesting and intuitive way to model complex domain, used in a lot of backend codebases. It keeps our code testable, elegant and evolvable. So why don’t we use the same techniques (or part of them) for our frontend codebase? In this talk I will explain how to introduce CQRS/ES in a frontend application and how some frontend developers are using it without knowing it.
