Actions
Vikingur Saemundsson is an Azure cloud architect at Avanade, based in Gothenburg. He has 15 years in the field, the last five spent entirely in regulated industries: banking, insurance, and currently as lead architect for a sovereign public cloud platform for a Nordic government.
He came up through DevOps and automation, and his core belief is that controls should be built into the platform and the pipeline, not bolted on around them. Director-Driven Development, the way of working he created for AI coding agents, applies that same idea: rules enforced by the build, not suggested in a prompt.
What he enjoys most is making complex things legible, whether he's mentoring engineers, teaching, or explaining a platform to the people who have to approve it.
