Actions
I am an Android Software Engineer at iFood, one of the largest food delivery platforms in the world, processing over 120 million orders per month. As part of the Order Delivery team, I work on critical flows that every order passes through, directly impacting the experience of millions of users. My expertise spans app performance, scalability, monitoring, and the delivery of robust solutions for complex distributed systems.
In recent years, I have expanded my focus into Edge AI and on-device machine learning. I’ve been actively researching and building proof of concepts using Android’s ML Kit Prompt APIs and on-device generative models, exploring how Edge AI can move from experimentation to real product features. My work investigates practical trade-offs between cloud and on-device AI, including latency, privacy, cost, and scalability, always with a production-first mindset. I am particularly interested in transforming AI capabilities into tangible user value within large-scale mobile applications.
My journey in monitoring began during an internship, where I gained hands-on experience working on large-scale systems. Over time, I developed a deep understanding of designing effective observability strategies, integrating tools such as Analytics, Crashlytics, and health monitoring into development lifecycles. At iFood, I have been responsible for implementing scalable monitoring solutions to ensure operational reliability and an exceptional user experience.
Academically, I hold a degree in Control and Automation Engineering from UNICAMP and I am currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Software Engineering, also at UNICAMP. My research paper, "Effective Monitoring of Mobile Applications in Production," received top marks and strengthened my ability to bridge theory and real-world engineering challenges. More recently, my academic and professional interests have converged around applied AI in mobile environments, especially the evolution of Edge AI in Android ecosystems.
Beyond work, I am deeply involved in the Android community. I have attended and spoken at international conferences, including Droidcon Berlin 2024 and AndroidMakers by Droidcon Paris, where I share insights on practical on-device AI and scalable mobile architectures. My talks focus on actionable strategies, real-world experimentation, and how to responsibly bring emerging AI technologies into production-grade apps.
