Open Data Science Conference

As organizations attempt to optimize their technology investments and capabilities in cloud infrastructure and data processing frameworks, the potential for an isolated approach to solving data problems (such as streaming analytics) can arise. Open source to the rescue! In this session, we demonstrate how to get started with a streaming architecture using Delta Lake and Kafka on Azure. However, rather than ingesting data into Delta Lake via Spark jobs, we are going to use a couple of open-source libraries (yeah, no Spark required...some restrictions apply).

Community Summit North America

Retailers lose an estimated $10B to $15B in sales annually for failure to comply with store/merchandise planograms. Imagine you are a business leader for a brick-and-mortar retailer visiting one of your flagship stores. How can you turn these visitations into direct, actionable insights around customer interaction rather than relying on gut feeling and a supplied planogram?

What if, as you walk the aisles, you receive insight through mixed reality applications into how your customers have been interacting with your products. What if you could compare product placement with approved company planograms in real time? This technology is not as far out of reach as you might have imagined.

In this session, Blueprint’s Director of Innovation Gary Nakanelua will demonstrate an Azure + Power Platform solution that uses a Power App to combine mixed reality with the compute power of Azure to equip retail managers with real-time insight into planogram compliance and performance.

Data and AI Summit

Integrating video analytics into existing analysis workflows can prove to be time-consuming and lack the performance necessary to analyze video at scale. As we progress towards the future of intelligence analysis, video analytics must augment and recommend rather than focus on replacing GEOINT tradecraft.

In this lightning talk with Blueprint’s Managing Director of Innovation, Gary Nakanelua, we will demonstrate the use of Apache Spark in a cloud-based video analytics solution for use by federal intelligence agencies. The demonstration will include identifying patterns in vehicle movement as captured in traffic cameras, detecting anomalies within those patterns, and recommending other areas of interest where observed traffic behaviors match.

USGIF GEOINTegration Summit

The USGIF GEOINTegration Summit is a multi-day event focused on professional self-discovery and personal branding, with new geospatial opportunities for collaborations. This summit will explore alternative futures scenarios; discuss transformations in geospatial education, research and professional development; identify challenges and shortcomings as well as successful examples shared by stakeholders; and propose solutions to generational shifts.

Global Artificial Intelligence Conference

In this session, we demonstrate how Apache Spark can be used to analyze massive amounts of retail video data and enable the holographic manipulation and visualization of that analysis in the Hololens. This manipulation empowers retail enterprises to get predictive insight into optimizing everything from customer experience to planogram compliance and inventory management. Key takeaways include a demonstration of holographic data visualization and manipulation of data in a retail environment and a practical look at holographic analytics visualization.

Spark & AI Summit 2018

In this session, we demonstrate how Apache Spark can be used to continuously ingest and analyze real-time telemetry data generated by a consumer mini-drone. This analysis is used by the mini-drone, in real-time, to optimize its flight path for speed improvements through a small obstacle course. Key takeaways include a demonstration of real-time processing of IoT device data using Spark, a practical look at edge analytics, and helpful tips to run a similar experiment.
