Gaurav Patel is a Radio Frequency Engineering Leader with over 20 years of international experience in wireless network planning, design, deployment, and optimization. He has led large-scale RF engineering initiatives across multiple generations of wireless technologies, including GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), with a strong focus on improving wireless customer experience through technology innovation.
Throughout his career, Gaurav has held senior engineering and leadership roles at major global organizations, including T-Mobile USA, Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, Nexius Solutions, and Reliance Communications. His expertise spans end-to-end RF planning and design for macro networks, small cells, and DAS; spectrum management and frequency reuse optimization; network performance benchmarking; and advanced RF optimization frameworks.
At T-Mobile USA, Gaurav has managed and executed complex RF deployment programs, leading teams of engineers across multiple markets and overseeing capital planning exceeding $100 million with a focus on ROI and customer experience enhancement. He has contributed to nationwide RF optimization standards, led Massive MIMO and FWA optimization trials, designed large-scale small-cell networks, and supported high-profile special event network planning and execution.
Gaurav is recognized for his leadership in wireless technology innovation and complex project delivery. His contributions include AI/ML-driven network tuning, self-organizing networks (SON), spectrum refarming, carrier aggregation, and energy-efficient network design. He has also played a key role in vendor evaluation, RFP/RFQ technical governance, and mentoring engineering teams.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications (2006) and a Master of Business Administration in International Business (2012).
