Olanrewaju Gboyega is a 4th-year undergraduate student of Applied Geophysics at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). He serves as President of the SEG FUTA Student Chapter and is a student member of SEG, AAPG, and NAPE. His research and academic interests focus on geophysical applications for sustainable energy, particularly carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Nigeria’s petroleum basins. He has organized student–industry engagement programs and participated in technical workshops and conferences. His current research uses seismic and well-log data to evaluate the suitability of depleted reservoirs and deep saline aquifers in the onshore Niger Delta for long-term CO₂ storage. He values opportunities to learn and collaborate, and aims to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s energy transition.
