What We Expect From Submitted Sessions

We’re looking for sessions that educate, inspire, and spark meaningful conversations within the GDG Chennai community. Our monthly meetups are designed to be practical, inclusive, and community-focused.

Here’s what we typically look for in submitted proposals:

🔹 Google Technologies & Developer Tools

Sessions that align with the Google Developers ecosystem are highly encouraged. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Android Development (Jetpack, Compose, Architecture, Performance, etc.)
  • Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Functions, GenAI integrations, etc.)
  • Gemini & AI/ML use cases
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Android Development Kit (ADK) and other emerging Google tools

We prefer real-world use cases, demos, and lessons learned over purely theoretical talks.

🔹 Open Source & Community Contributions

We strongly value sessions that promote:

  • Open-source projects (Google or non-Google)
  • How to get started with open source
  • Contributor journeys, maintainership, and best practices
  • Community-led tools, libraries, or frameworks

If your session helps people give back to the community, it’s a great fit.

🔹 Hands-on Workshops

Interactive and hands-on sessions are always welcome:

  • Code-along workshops
  • Tool or framework deep dives
  • Beginner-friendly learning sessions
  • Short labs or guided builds

Workshops should be well-structured and clearly mention prerequisites, duration, and expected outcomes.

🔹 Practical & Experience-Based Content

We love sessions that share:

  • Case studies
  • Production challenges and solutions
  • Best practices and common pitfalls
  • Career learnings and technical journeys

Content that attendees can apply immediately after the meetup is highly appreciated.

🔹 Inclusive & Accessible Sessions

We encourage:

  • Beginner-friendly or clearly labeled difficulty levels
  • Clear learning objectives
  • Content that is welcoming to developers from diverse backgrounds

You don’t have to be an expert speaker — clarity, authenticity, and willingness to share matter more
