Born in Kindu on September 9, 1999, Gilbert Bemwiz discovered computing at the age of 14 through mobile video games. What started as curiosity slowly became a strong interest in technology, experimentation, and digital systems. Although he had good abilities in mathematics, he chose to study Commercial Informatics because of his passion for computers.

As a teenager, he spent a lot of time experimenting with phones, software, and digital tools, sometimes even damaging devices while trying to understand how they worked. After graduating in 2017, he joined the first cohort of MAPON University in Computer Engineering. Feeling that classroom learning alone was not enough, he spent many hours learning independently in the computer lab, exploring programming, networks, artificial intelligence, and system design.

In 2019, he co-created “Busoga,” a local social network project built in response to the lack of digital platforms adapted to local realities. In 2021, his “Intelligent Virtual Ophthalmologist” project received an innovation award. While working on this healthcare AI project, he faced a major difficulty: the lack of medical datasets adapted to the Congolese context. This experience pushed him to think more deeply about how intelligent systems could still be developed in environments with limited data and resources. These reflections later contributed to the idea he calls “Tradition Learning.”

In December 2025, during DevFest Lubumbashi, Gilbert presented Tradition Learning publicly. The discussions that followed led to the creation of the Tradition Learning Community (TLC), bringing together developers, mathematicians, programmers, and technology enthusiasts interested in exploring practical approaches to AI in low-resource environments.

Alongside his technical work, Gilbert began publishing articles and reflections on intelligent systems, autonomous agents, and applied AI for constrained environments. His interests gradually expanded beyond artificial intelligence alone toward broader questions involving infrastructure, digital accessibility, operational systems, and technological inclusion.

During travels across the Katanga region, including Kolwezi, Likasi, and Kasumbalesa, he became increasingly aware that many African challenges go beyond AI itself. For him, one of the main issues is technological isolation: access to infrastructure, connectivity, stable systems, and operational environments capable of supporting innovation. This experience strengthened his interest in enterprise infrastructure, monitoring systems, and industrial environments.

In 2026, he joined SOMAF Group SARL in Lubumbashi, where he became involved in technical and operational environments linked to critical infrastructure and industrial systems. At the same time, through his experience at Neotex.ai and other applied projects, he continues exploring practical approaches to intelligent systems adapted to African realities.

Today, Gilbert Bemwiz works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, infrastructure, monitoring systems, and operational challenges, with a growing interest in building technological ecosystems adapted to constrained and evolving environments.

Né à Kindu le 9 septembre 1999, Gilbert Bemwiz découvre l’informatique à l’âge de 14 ans à travers les jeux vidéo mobiles. Ce qui commence comme une simple curiosité devient rapidement une passion pour la technologie, l’expérimentation et les systèmes numériques. Malgré de bonnes prédispositions en mathématiques, il choisit la filière Commerciale Informatique par intérêt personnel pour l’univers informatique.

Très tôt, il passe beaucoup de temps à expérimenter avec les téléphones, logiciels et outils numériques, parfois jusqu’à faire “planter” certains appareils en essayant de comprendre leur fonctionnement. Après l’obtention de son diplôme d’État en 2017, il intègre la première promotion de l’Université MAPON en Génie Informatique. Estimant que les cours académiques seuls ne suffisaient pas, il consacre une grande partie de son temps libre à un apprentissage autodidacte intensif au laboratoire informatique.

En 2019, il co-crée “Busoga”, un projet de réseau social local pensé pour des réalités locales. En 2021, son projet d’ophtalmologue virtuel intelligent reçoit un prix d’innovation. En travaillant sur ce projet médical, il se heurte au manque de données adaptées au contexte congolais. Cette expérience l’amène à réfléchir à la manière de développer des systèmes intelligents dans des environnements où les données et les ressources sont limitées. Ces réflexions contribuent plus tard à l’émergence de l’idée qu’il appelle “Tradition Learning”.

En décembre 2025, lors du DevFest Lubumbashi, Gilbert présente publiquement Tradition Learning. Les échanges qui suivent conduisent à la création de la Tradition Learning Community (TLC), une communauté réunissant développeurs, mathématiciens, programmeurs et passionnés de technologie intéressés par des approches pratiques de l’intelligence artificielle dans des contextes à faibles ressources.

Parallèlement à ses activités techniques, Gilbert commence à publier des articles et réflexions autour des systèmes intelligents, des agents autonomes et des environnements numériques contraints. Progressivement, ses centres d’intérêt évoluent au-delà de l’intelligence artificielle seule vers des questions plus larges liées aux infrastructures, à l’accessibilité numérique, aux systèmes opérationnels et à l’inclusion technologique.

Lors de plusieurs voyages dans le Katanga, notamment à Kolwezi, Likasi et Kasumbalesa, il prend davantage conscience que de nombreux défis africains dépassent la seule question de l’IA. Selon lui, l’un des principaux problèmes reste le désenclavement technologique : accès aux infrastructures, à la connectivité, à des systèmes stables et à des environnements capables de soutenir l’innovation. Cette prise de conscience renforce son intérêt pour les infrastructures d’entreprise, les systèmes de monitoring et les environnements industriels.

En 2026, il rejoint SOMAF Group SARL à Lubumbashi, où il intervient dans des environnements techniques et opérationnels liés aux infrastructures critiques et aux systèmes industriels. En parallèle, à travers son expérience chez Neotex.ai et d’autres projets appliqués, il continue d’explorer des approches pratiques des systèmes intelligents adaptées aux réalités africaines.

Aujourd’hui, Gilbert Bemwiz travaille à l’intersection de l’intelligence artificielle, des infrastructures, des systèmes de monitoring et des défis opérationnels, avec un intérêt particulier pour les écosystèmes technologiques adaptés aux environnements contraints et en évolution.
