Dr. Heather Bishop is the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Florida State University (FSU). Her portfolio includes oversight of Transfer Student Services, Articulation Policy, and Student Advising Systems. In her role, Dr. Bishop acts as a liaison between Florida College System institutions and FSU, focusing on developing partnerships and that facilitate student transitions between educational institutions. She also helps to develop programming, advising tools, and curriculum that assists students in progressing toward their educational goals in a timely and efficient manner once they make the transition to FSU.
Dr. Bishop's extensive experience in higher education includes positions such as Director of Articulation and Student Services for the Florida Division of Community Colleges (5 years), Director of the K-20 Office of Articulation for the Florida Department of Education (7 years), and Policy Chief for the Higher Education & Workforce Subcommittee in the Florida House of Representatives (8 years). She holds three degrees from FSU: a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Science in Sport/Educational Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration as well as a Graduate Certificate in Educational Policy.
Beyond her administrative duties, Dr. Bishop contributes to the FSU community as the Visual Teams Coordinator for the FSU Marching Chiefs, leveraging her background as a former feature twirler.
