Hector Silva has eight years of teaching experience at acclaimed industrial design programs, including at the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Notre Dame, Rochester Institute of Technology, Academy of Art University and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was named Young Educator of the Year by IDSA and works as an industrial design contractor through his own studio, H Design. He founded Advanced Design, a nonprofit that promotes design education and was awarded the Special Achievement Award by IDSA. Hector also recently founded Offsite, an experimental online design school that bridges the divide between academia and industry, shaking up traditional design education methods.
