Dr. Hyowon Choi is a senior systems engineer at Kilby Labs, Texas Instruments, where he develops physical AI systems for embedded sensing and perception at the edge. His current work spans AI-enabled human presence detection using mmWave radar sensors and AI/ML model development for smart manufacturing and automation. Before joining Texas Instruments, he built image processing, computer vision, and deep learning solutions across Alcon's medical device portfolio. Earlier, at a San Diego startup, he developed algorithms and scientific computing tools for cardiovascular medical devices, and at IUPUI he led multi-physics modeling for medical device design as a postdoctoral fellow and research associate. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from UC Davis, where his doctoral research applied computational modeling and numerical analysis to blood flow dynamics and transport of blood-born molecules in vascular systems.
