Digitalizing Your Mission Statement

In my work with public institutions, I’ve often found that mission statements are widely known but rarely translated into clear operational goals. The underlying problem is a lack of technology to ensure that the mission statement is being implemented at each level of an organization.

This session will guide participants through digitalizing their mission statement with the use of the project management platform, Asana. Using a fictional NGO as an example, this session will cover four core features: active goal setting with clear accountability, benchmarking progress against measurable outputs, progress dashboards, and third-party app integrations (e.g. Gmail, Slack, Google Drive). Asana will be used as the primary example, though the same principles apply to other platforms such as Notion, Airtable, and Trello.

Whether an organization is preparing for a grant cycle, navigating leadership transitions, or simply trying to streamline collaboration, this session will walk through how to implement these tools into the workplace.
