Originally from Colombia, South America, where she attended Medical School, Dr. Angelelli completed her Pediatric training at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP). She worked in emergency medicine and is currently the Director of the Pediatric Sedation Service.
She is a community and environmental health advocate. She is the CHP Environmental Team Champion and serves on the UPMC Environmental Initiatives Committee.
Her work focuses on trees as a public health intervention and efforts to decrease the carbon footprint of healthcare systems. She is a board member at Tree Pittsburgh and brought the “One Tree Per Child” program to the city. More than 3,000 children in the region have planted more than 3,000 trees through this initiative. She is also the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Clinicians for Climate Action, a group of UPMC clinicians supporting the healthcare system to decarbonize its operations and implement sustainable practices.
