XMCloud Rule Engine: A custom module for running Sitecore rules in NextJS

In this session I'd like to present JSS Rule Engine - a custom module I was developing for the last 2 years that would allow to run Sitecore rules with NodeJS runtime.

https://github.com/JackTheHack/sitecore-jss-rule-engine

By default Sitecore doesn't support running the Sitecore rules with JSS, even though rules fields still exist in XM Cloud instances and their values are returned by Experience Edge.

The custom module provided as NPM package is aimed to cover this gap and would be a free module that could be easily reused in other projects.

In the session I would present technical details of implementation, customization APIs, as well as possible areas it could be used for such as:

- Personalization
- Automation flows
- No-code chatbot builder
- etc.

More details on the module could be read in the articles below where I covered the progress of module development:

Estimating the upgrade from monolith DXP to XM Cloud

New XM Cloud offering by Sitecore brings a lot of benefits, but also a challenges in upgrade.

In this session I'd cover on our experience in moving away from Sitecore XP, what are the benefits of upgrade, but also what issues dev team might face during an upgrade and which should be reflected in estimating the migration.
