Jakob Gottlieb Svendsen, former Cloud and Datacenter Management MVP, working at Saxo Bank as Chief Cloud engineer. In charge of the technical side of management of our cloud(s). Currently Saxo Bank hosts their services on Microsoft Azure. As a former principal consultant and lead developer @ CTGlobal/Coretech for over 13 years, he has worked with a wide range of area related to management of IT, and later management of cloud. This included infrastructure as code, cost management/FinOps and much more.
Jakob was one of the authors of Microsoft Hybrid Cloud Unleashed (2017) and a contributing author to System Center 2012 Service Manager Unleashed (2014). Lessons learned on enabling Cloud Cost Anomaly detection in our enterprise.

As an Enterprise following decentralized self-service DevOps principles, we have numerous teams which design, deploys and run services in the cloud. Keeping up with budgets on a monthly basis is difficult, near impossible. Implementing our custom anomaly detection in cost, enables us to alert the owners of resources when their resources spend more money than expected. This session talks about how, why and the large number of dilemmas and discissions that is required to get it working and well received by owners.
