James Mumo Wambua is a financial educator and the founder of Auctoritas Agency, which positions financial-sector leaders across East Africa.

He trained in actuarial science and spent his early career at KCB Bank Group, East Africa's largest bank by assets, working across microfinance and Sharia-compliant retail banking. He now publishes as @mumo_mumo_ to roughly 145,000 African professionals on YouTube and TikTok, covering crypto regulation, stablecoin adoption, and capital formation for African markets. He is a content partner with Binance.

Most of his work involves translating live regulatory change into practical guidance for the people it hits first: cross-border traders settling import invoices, small businesses holding savings in dollars, and retail investors navigating markets with no consumer protection layer. He covered Kenya's Virtual Asset Service Providers Act as it moved through Parliament and tracked how licensing changed user behavior on the ground.
