Jan-Karl Knigge took a somewhat unconventional path to software development. He studied industrial engineering and logistics and earned his PhD from Technische Universität Darmstadt, where he explored the usability of Virtual Reality in logistics. He is the author of a book as well as various research papers and has presented his work at several conferences. After leaving academia, he decided to turn his hands-on interest in programming into a career and is now a Senior Consultant at TNG Technology Consulting. There, he focuses on applying modern software development techniques, testing, and writing software for logistics companies. He particularly enjoys combining his background in economics and logistics with his dedication to software development, which is also where the roots of his interest in Lean Production lie. In his free time, he experiments with AI and loves writing software to solve everyday problems.
