Jan Steffen is a Senior Cloud Engineer with over 15 years of experience in software engineering, platform architecture, and cloud infrastructure. Based in Hessen, Germany, Jan currently works at Schwarz Digits on the STACKIT Kubernetes Engine (SKE) team, where he develops customer-facing platform features and Kubernetes operators in Go, leveraging Gardener and upstream open-source technologies.

Throughout his career, Jan has focused on reducing developer friction while enforcing robust security standards. Prior to Schwarz Digits, he served as Lead IT Architect at BWI GmbH, contributing to the Open Defense Cloud and building secure artifact gateways across security zones for the German Federal Armed Forces. As Cloud Tech Lead at finleap connect, he architected Monoskope, a multi-cluster developer self-service platform.
