Jen Fisher currently serves as the Assistant Vice President, Project Implementation and Support. In this role, Jen delivers leadership and implementation support for key organizational and strategic initiatives such as the College’s Strategic Plan. Jen’s experience includes creative problem-solving, facilitation, skills-based training, and strategic planning. Prior to her current role, Jen served as the Assistant Vice President of Employee Benefits at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana beginning in 2013.
Prior to joining Ivy Tech, Jen worked in the Human Resources field in the transportation industry with Republic Airways and Vanguard Services, Inc. Jen has a Bachelors of Arts from Purdue University and a Masters of Business Administration from Butler University. She is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, a SHRM Certified Professional, a certified CliftonStrengths Coach, and Change Management Practitioner.

Case studies and real-world examples will illustrate how this methodology has been successfully implemented in diverse teams.

Building Your Continuous Improvement Resources

In higher education, continuous improvement is fundamental to achieving long-term institutional success. It focuses on the systematic enhancement of teaching, learning, administrative processes, and student outcomes. In this interactive session, attendees will gain expertise in utilizing and facilitating root cause analysis, process mapping, Lean principles, and communication tools, equipping them with the skills to drive sustainable improvements across various institutional practices.

Strategic Planning Using the Simplex Methodology

This interactive session will focus on utilizing the Simplex Methodology to develop a strategic plan. Then, using a case study approach, the participants will develop a strategic plan for a fictional organization.

We will spend the first portion of the session teaching the Simplex Methodology, which utilizes divergent and convergent tactics to move a team through the problem-solving process. We will then use these skills to develop a strategic plan with a shared vision approach rather than a top-down push.
