Jerel Buycks, is the owner of Royal Roots Barbershop in East Point, GA. He is also a real estate investor and Connect Parent Program facilitator. With over 35 years experience as a barber and 23 years in business, he has been an integral part of the communities in which he has served. Whether he was cutting hair in the bathroom at his childhood home in Trotwood, OH, his dorm room at Morehouse College or at his own barbershop, he has provided a safe space for MALES of different ages, backgrounds and interests. There has always been a special bond between those who congregated in these sanctuaries that became enclaves in a world where they did not always feel like welcomed members. Jerel enjoys contributing to the progress, development, and transformation of people who he serves.

Through his barbershop, he has hosted countless community events such as annual back to school bash, thanksgiving giveaways, mentoring programs, mental health events and parenting classes. As a husband and father of 3 daughters who comes from strong and supportive family. He is passionate about building families by empowering fathers to be invested and involved in the lives of their children.
