Jerry McCormick’s career started by serving eight years in the US Maines. He then served 30 years as a police officer retiring in September 2019 as a Captain for the Cary Police Department. Jerry completed 20 years of research on Active Shooter suspects following the Columbine High School shooting incident that led to developing training for thousands of public safety professionals on how to respond to active shooter incidents. Jerry has transitioned into Employee Personal Safety training to help employees to know how to deal with a myriad of threats beyond just active shooters. He has interviewed ~10,000 police officers in the US, Europe, and China to learn why they are not a victim of a crime. His personal safety training is based on his research on police officers. He also completed 18 months of research on the origins of Conflict in our society dating back to the year 1481 which ties his research on violent incidents to the conflict that permeates our society. Jerry is certified by Homeland Security to complete Critical Infrastructure & Facility Security Assessments. Jerry currently serves as the President for Personal Safety at Work.
