NFT in Sports

I believe that the digital collectibles of highlights and trading cards is not a successful approach. It lacks the tangibility and community-building aspects of physical cards. This is where NFT's failed from the beginning. X (Twitter) was a great place for Spaces and was a real foundation block for the NFT community while our hopes of building out Web 3 were slowly developing. As NFTs showed to be an amazing investment opportunity the dynamic of the NFT communities drastically changed. From being a community based on the appreciation of art or an athlete to individuals looking for the best utility and free items. This approach was inevitably going to fail. We need to pursue Web 3 and then NFTs will have endless possibilities or even just incorporate with current gaming. A fan being able to play Madden or NBA 2K with their favorite athlete is a draw, but imagine being able to but their skin (NFT) if you beat them.

Future of NFTs

In my NFT in Sports submission I touched on the fact that I would like to talk about the future of NFTs. It would be better to make these 2 different speeches. I predicted on TWM podcast around late 2020 or early 2021, that utilities would cause a major dip and could be the downfall of the PFP NFTs. I would love to talk on the need to focus on the art, Web 3, and community side of PFP NFTs.
