Jihai Zhou graduated from Imperial College London as a PhD. He has ever worked in different global banks (such as Barclays bank, HSBC) and Tencent (Top Internet company in China) on DevOps and DevSecOps transformation for more than 10 years. Between 2018 and 2023, Jihai was invited by 20+ technical conferences as the speaker to share DevOps/DevSecOps experience. In Dec 2021, Jihai’s book – “DevSecOps Implementation”, which is the first book about the DevSecOps in China, was published by Mechanical Industry Press in China. In June 2022, Jihai contributed to the book – “The Future and Fintech: ABCDI and Beyond” as the fourth author and the book was published by World Scientific in Singapore. In July 2023, Jihai was invited by Nanjing University (Top 10 in China) Software Institute DevOps+ Research Lab as the “Industry mentor” to provide guide to postgraduate students on DevSecOps.

The Implementation of DevSecOps in Global Banks
After running DevOps transformation for since 2015 to speed up business delivery and provide better quality product/services, cyber security becomes the bottleneck of DevOps process. In order to solve this problem, since 2018, we started to run DevSecOps transformation to left shift cyber security into DevOps process.
In this presentation, we will share our DevSecOps implementation experience from different aspects: how to apply different DevSecOps technologies (SAST, DAST, SCA and ect); how to build up a DevSecOps system (DevSecOps implmentation model, Operating model, Maturity model, Dashboard and metrics, vulnerabilities management, and etc); how to improve development teams cyber security mindset and skills trhough different training and events; and how to establish the DevSecOps culture. In addition, we will study different DevSecOps cases to discuss and analyze how to implement DevSecOps in different industries and different scenarios.
