Jim Daniell is a proven business leader with broad and deep experience in both technology and telecom having successfully made the cross-over to the nonprofit sector in 2009 when became the COO of Oxfam America. In 2017, he founded Revol LLC to help nonprofits accelerate their own efforts to transform the organizations for greater scale and impact. He has served on the Board of NetHope as well as a co-founder of the NetHope Center for the Digital Nonprofit.
His nonprofit experience has been at the intersection of the largest nonprofits in the world as well as the largest, tech enabled companies helping them. He is well versed in all aspects of global nonprofit operations including international program delivery, policy and advocacy, fundraising, and more traditional shared services such as finance, HR, and IT. His works focuses on connecting strategy formation to the implementation of radically improved people, financial, and technological processes that can delight employees, donors, and beneficiaries.
Jim’s prior for-profit business operating experience ranges from early-stage start-ups to $18B in revenue, P&L ownership of up to $700M, and multiple CEO roles in the tech sector with over $100M in capital formation. His other experience includes both public and private board service with 60+ years of cumulative service, international corporate transactions totaling over $1B, limited partner investments of over $150M, and early-stage venture investments of over $45M including the founding of one of Boston’s largest angel networks.
Jim concurrently earned his BS Eng./MS Computer Science from the University of Connecticut and his Ph.D. In Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
