Joe Lahav, Esq., is a licensed attorney and on-site legal advisor for The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com, a national resource for people affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. He graduated with a juris doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 2000, and he’s licensed to practice in Florida and Washington, D.C. Since 2008, he has helped patients, families and readers understand their compensation options and the legal questions that follow an asbestos-related diagnosis.

Joe has written and legally reviewed content and legal guides covering mesothelioma claims, lawsuits, settlements, compensation, asbestos trust funds, statutes of limitations and wrongful death claims. He also shares his knowledge through The Mesothelioma Center’s videos and webinars, making complex legal topics easier for patients and their families to understand.

His work is informed by years of direct experience supporting families. Joe spent seven years as a Patient Advocate and managed the Patient Advocate team, helping people navigate questions about diagnosis, treatment and financial resources. In 2022, he helped launch The Mesothelioma Center’s Community Outreach program, which connects patients and families with resources across the country.
