Joe Ruiz is a journalist and advocate for mental health and diversity in newsrooms.
He recently finished the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University, and was previously managing editor at CBS News and a senior editor at CNN Politics.
In 2010, Ruiz was part of the Seattle Times team that won the Pulitzer Prize. He currently serves on the board of directors at the San Antonio Report, the board of advisors at Vita Activa, and is a past vice president of NAHJ.
