Community service has remained an important part of Joe Fairless's work. Through his Best Ever Causes project, he has helped more than 38 non-profits. Since 2012, he has also provided scholarship funds to Texas Tech University’s advertising squad, allowing selected students to travel to New York City and intern at a well-known advertising business.

In 2015, Joe served as an adjunct communications instructor at Texas Tech University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising. He now serves on the board of its College of Media and Communication. He has also worked with Junior Achievement and visits hospice patients in the Cincinnati region.

His career began as an advertising junior project manager, and he became his firm’s youngest vice president by the age of 30. After realizing advertising was not his true calling, he studied real estate through books, seminars, and guidance from accomplished businesspeople. He left advertising in 2012 and, within six months, raised enough private investment to purchase a 168-unit complex. Earlier experiences for Joe Fairless Cincinnati include owning four single-family homes, working at a daycare center, captaining a national championship flag football team, and pursuing stand-up comedy after moving to New York City.
