Run your own Large Language Models on VMware Private AI Foundation, powered by NVIDIA en

In today’s world, where businesses have fully embraced the power of chatbots and Large Language Models (LLMs), many forget the risk of feeding public AI services with sensitive data. Organizations that do see the risk and choose to run LLMs in their own datacenter experience challenges because MLops teams have trouble to scale their infrastructure. This is where the newly announced VMware Private AI Foundation, that includes VMware vSphere with Tanzu and NVIDIA AI Enterprise, can help. In this session, Johan van Amersfoort (ITQ), Frank Denneman (VMware), and Jits Langedijk (NVIDIA) will explain how organizations can implement ML apps like chatbots with LLMs in their own environment, using the same modern tools and DevOps processes as admins would do when running them in public cloud. They will explain aspects like hardware configs and show you how easy it is to deploy your own LLM using NVIDIA GPU Cloud!

My journey into the world of Platform Engineering and AI en

Sometimes you need a real-world problem to learn new skills. In my case, it took a giant problem. Without spoiling anything, I needed to figure out a solution to solve something I had been struggling with for the last 18 months or so. The learning curve was steep, but very satisfying. In this talk I will explain how I used K3s, a cluster of GPU-enabled edge devices, NVIDIA Deepstream, and perseverance to avoid a war with the neighbors. During the talk, I'll share lessons learned and show demos so everyone is able to kickstart their own AI journey.

Blasting into the Extreme: Remoting Protocol and GPU Deepdive en

In this session, Johan van Amersfoort and Spencer Pitts will share their experiences with designing, building and testing VMware Horizon platforms for simulators like combat sims, flight sims, construction sims and more! You will learn how to get the most out of your VMware Horizon platform, User Experience (UX), Remoting Protocols and GPUs, even though you might not even run those apps. Johan and Spencer will explain lessons learned during building and testing, the tools used to troubleshoot UX issues, and show demos along the way. This session won the VMworld People's Choice award in 2021, and the guys will share some new findings and lessons learned since then, but also new features in VMware Horizon and new hardware options.

Project Einstein: A Small-Scale Conversational AI PoC for Big Business Impact en

When I started this role (7 years ago), I could name every colleague, every customer, and every solution. Fast-forward to today: we're juggling hundreds of RFPs, technical solutions, and mounting process debt. The sheer scale of our growth came with a pressing challenge—how to manage complex, sensitive data and accelerate painfully long workflows.
Enter Project Einstein: my skunkworks experiment to revolutionise our operations using conversational AI. I set out to build a PoC that integrates confidential company information into a secure, user-friendly application. The goal? Speed up RFP creation, protect sensitive data, and eliminate inefficiencies.
My approach embraced inclusivity, business needs, and a design-thinking mindset to craft a solution that works across departments. From private AI labs to opinionated stacks and CNCF reference architecture, I’ll share how we built this tiny but impactful PoC that we have since released as a service.

Cloud-Native Cat Defense: Building Enterprise-Grade Solutions on a Backyard Budget en nl

What do you do when your neighbour’s giant cat claims your yard? If you’re like me—a curious, forever-learning tech enthusiast—you turn it into a cloud-native, AI challenge. In this talk, I’ll share how I built an enterprise-grade real-time video analysis system using accessible tools and CNCF reference architecture.
We'll dive into how I combined platform engineering, AI workloads, K3s deployment, networking, load balancing, and CI/CD practices to create a cost-effective solution (with a high spousal approval factor!) without relying on a hyperscaler budget. I'll demystify GPU requirements, showcase tech like NVIDIA DeepStream and the NVIDIA Jetson Nano Platform, and demonstrate how to leverage existing tech creatively.

Attendees will gain confidence in starting cloud-native projects, understand core concepts like containerized storage and security basics, and learn how to build sophisticated applications on a budget.

Optimizing Large-Scale Linux VM Deployments: Cutting Image Build Time from Weeks to 30 Minutes en

We partnered with a global manufacturing company to solve the challenges of deploying Linux virtual machines for 16,000 developers. Their image building process took weeks, and managing hundreds of RHEL-based images was overwhelming. By implementing Packer, we reduced the build time to just 30 minutes, solved security and compliancy issues, and enabled self-service for Devs. This not only saved hundreds of hours monthly but also enabled rapid patching, cloud scaling, and predictable RHEL version updates. Join us to learn how we streamlined their entire workflow!

Cloud-Native Cat Defense: Building Enterprise-Grade Solutions on a Backyard Budget en nl
