Multi-Platform builds with Flutter in Amazon CodeCatalyst

In this session we are going to look at using Flutter as a technology for cross-platform Front-End and application development. After looking at general considerations around multi-platform developments and builds, the talk is going to cover CodeCatalyst CI/CD workflows (including Github Actions) and is going to look at current challenges and missing functionalities of the CI/CD workflows in CodeCatalyst.

Diving deep on CI/CD - Why you should START with it

Having talked to a lot of builders (Community Builders, AWS engineers, ...) world wide there is a pattern of new projects being started without proper CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment) in mind which later results in decreased developer productivity.
Starting with the value flow of developer experience and DevSecOps best practices we are going to use Amazon CodeCatalyst to kick off a project development while keeping in mind developer productivity. The session incorporates findings and learnings from the conversations with builders.

Building our Football-Match-Center using CodeCatalyst

In this session, Johannes and Christian will share their best practices for working with Amazon CodeCatalyst and discuss the key takeaways they learned while using this service in a recent community project called “Football Match-Center”. On a journey through the typical DevOps lifecycle, the audience will
a) get a general overview of the rich feature-set of Amazon CodeCatalyst
b) gain a deeper understanding of the current benefits and limitations of Amazon CodeCatalyst,
c) get practical tips for using the service to kickstart their projects.

Amazon CodeCatalyst provides a comprehensive toolset to support different stages of a typical DevOps workflow. Since the service is available in Preview we discovered the practical use cases of the CodeCatalyst tools in the plan, code, build/test and deploy phase.

Using CDK pipelines (in Java) to build a multi-platform Flutter application

Flutter as a trending cross platform development framework can accelerate the Go-to-market for Startups and Enterprises. For business success, a CI/CD pipeline is required to achieve fast lead times to production - for all platforms that you aim to support. In this talk, we are presenting a possible CI/CD pipeline using CDK pipelines (on top of AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeBuild) to build, test and release a Flutter application. The CDK infrastructure is written in Java.

The local cloud - ideas to ensure developer productivity in serverless architectures

Discuss challenges and potential solutions for ensuring developer productivity is high and the delivered product fullfills quality requirements (in any part of the world or on the plane).
Brign in your own ideas and experiences around unit testing, integration testing, mocking and the "local cloud".
