John Mark Day
I help people find community and make their communities better.
John Mark Day serves as the Director of Leadership and Campus Life at Oklahoma State University, where he oversees the departments of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, student government, Camp Cowboy (extended orientation), student organizations, the office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment, the Student Volunteer Center, commuter and non-traditional student programs, student activities, and the Center for Ethical Leadership. Prior to this, he was the Director of the First Year Experience at Texas Christian University. John Mark has built a career on helping students connect, belong, and develop as ethical leaders. Firmly in the "conflicted shyness" quadrant, John Mark has developed his own strategies and coping mechanisms to move to a growth mindset in his interpersonal relationships, and was relieved to put a name to the feeling he's had his entire life. This is a highly personal and important topic for him.
John Mark holds a bachelor's degree in Religion and News-Editorial Journalism from Texas Christian University, master's degrees from TCU and Dallas Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University.
