Jon Joey "JJ" Telebrico (he/they/siya) is a recent graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where he majored in Philosophy and American Studies, with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies. During their time at CMC, JJ was a departmental liaison for the 5-college American Studies Program and a 2022 Margo Okazawa-Rey Fellow through the Intercollegiate Department of Asian American Studies at The Claremont Colleges, examining the relation between Asian American creative expression and principles of justice. This work later informed an honors thesis in American Studies applying assemblage theory to transpacific and diasporic Filipinx poetry, which was recently featured on poet Kimberly Alidio’s website. At present, JJ is interested in examining the role of phenomenology, a philosophical study of lived experience, within digital spaces and continues to work on this research throughout their gap year prior to graduate study.
