Jonathan van Harmelen, Ph.D, is a specialist in U.S. political history and Asian American history. His dissertation is a study of the role of Congress in the wartime incarceration of Japanese Americans. He has previously published in Pacific Historical Review, Southern California Quarterly and the Journal of Transnational American studies, and is a columnist of the Japanese American National Museum's blog "Discover Nikkei."
