Automate Your Daily Database Checks with PowerShell

You spend at least an hour or two every day checking to make sure that your SQL Server databases are compliant with your organization’s best practices. Even if your day starts in chaos trying to resolve other urgent issues, you still need to perform these daily checks. Wouldn’t it be great if you can outsource these checks to someone (or something) who will be more than willing to do these day in and day out?

In this session, learn how you can leverage PowerShell to automate your daily checks to make sure that your SQL Server databases are compliant with your organization’s best practices. You will learn how to create your own automated checks and even display the results in a Power BI dashboard. This allows you to have more time to do things that only you can do.

Leveraging PowerShell for SQL Server Disaster Preparedness

Every day you make sure that your SQL Server backup jobs complete successfully. You (hopefully) run regular integrity checks on your data, and have automated cleanup tasks so you don’t run out of space. Maybe you have backup redundancy in the cloud, on a NAS, or even physical tape backups. Maybe you use third-party tools that take snapshots of your whole machine for you! What else can you be doing to ensure your SQL Server data is protected in the event of a disaster?

In this session, we will use a combination of Powershell along with SQL Server scripts to help you create (or reinforce) and then automate your optimal disaster recovery solution, ensuring that you are able to meet your RPO/RTO requirements and that you don’t lose any of your company’s greatest asset - its data.
