My name is Jordi, a typical name from my place of birth: Catalonia, Spain.
I've been a Java enthusiast since university, 20 years ago.
I worked in different environments: university, healthcare, financial & banking,... Mostly Java related (luckily!), but sometimes also touching areas such as Configuration Management, DevOps or OpenShift.
In 2019 I joined Red Hat, in the Global Learning Services division.
I joined as a Services Content Architect, building all kinds of development- and kubernetes-related courses (proud designer of the Quarkus course!).
Last year I switched to a DevOps Content Engineer, taking responsibility for development workflow and tools.
I contributed to several FOSS projects, such as Quarkus (I have the Quakus2 tee!), Ceylon (R.I.P.), Hibernate (a looong time ago), Jackson, AsciiDoctor...
During the last decade I gained interest in the FOSS world and the DevRel aspect of the community, so I keep on trying to be active in meetings and conferences, with more or less success. In the short term, I target to improve this aspect of my career!

JBang and the prisoner of the release
Distributing sofware is not trivial; and it is even worse when multiple versions of the same product are to be used simultaneously: identifying versions, generating releases, distributing, installing...
In this lightning talk I am exposing a real use case for releasing multi-versioned components, and how JBang came to the rescue for distributing software with ease.
We will talk about the how the requirements of the project lead to extremely uncommon workflows, and how simple (or not that simple) technologies available in the Java ecosystem took us from the blueprint to the working product in a blink.
