Early Childhood Education has been my area of research, teaching, and now lecturing. I have 23 years of experience working with various ECE program like head start, state preschool, Preschool Collaborative Classroom, district center base, religious base, and lab schools. Throughout my research I have learned so much from children and how they learn, socialize, and create new meaningful knowledge. The more in research them, the more fascinated I feel of the importance of PLAY.
My philosophy is, build personal intimate relationships and engage with their play build self efficacy and an opportunity to maximize learning with children.
Currently I am a Master Teacher at Pacific Oaks Children's School and teach Child Development at California State University, Los Angeles and East Los Angeles College. I am also a mentor at ELAC, CSULA, USC, Rio Hondo, and California Early Childhood Mentor Program. As a mentor I want to empower future generations of educators to be effective and innovative leader for learners.
My educational background in the field is rich and diverse across education, child development, and early childhood education. I began my studies at East Los Angeles College (ELAC) receiving an AA in Liberal Studies. I continued at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) completing a BA Child Development and multiple subject credential. I furthered my education at The University of Southern California (USC) with Rossier School of Education, researching Early Childhood Education. During my studies, I focused on understanding theory, child development theory, and learning how to be a facilitator for children's development as individuals to provide valuable and meaningful instruction.
As a higher education instructor with ELAC and CSULA, both my alma mater, want to be a resource for the future generations of child development teachers. I want to share my knowledge, experience, and strategies to guide other in their career path. Together, we can provide high quality in early childhood education. I want to empower and mentor future teachers with my experience in working with children. Together, we will change society for the betterment of young children.
Through my experience and educational, I have a platform to advocate for change, equity, and empower your children. Together, we will impact social change with high quality and equitable education for children.
