Area of Expertise
Global Solidarity without BS
Many initiatives aim to operate in the global south - but often along the same models of extraction and oppression. How can we be allies and supporters without continuing a narrative of saviorism and dependence? What are the metaphors, symbols, and narratives that are counterproductive to forming equitable alliances - and what are some emerging ones that better capture the essence of the future? Come ready to confront some of the assumptions of optimism, equity, and spirituality you might have heard throughout this conference.
