Dr. Jacklyn Sanders is an Assistant Professor of the Practice and Extension Specialist at Prairie View A&M University, where her work focuses on student success, mentorship, leadership development, and community health education. She previously served as Interim Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR).

Dr. Sanders coordinates mentoring initiatives designed to support students across critical stages of their collegiate experience, including first-year transition, peer mentoring, career development, and preparation for life beyond college. Her work includes leadership with the PAWS Mentoring Program and CAFNR’s Mentor Collective initiatives, where she develops mentor training, engagement strategies, and structured opportunities that strengthen students’ sense of belonging, confidence, professional development, and academic success.

A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Sanders is committed to creating intentional pathways that inform, empower, and elevate students while preparing them to lead, serve, and succeed in their educational and professional pursuits.
