Kickstart your container journey with Azure Container Apps and GitHub Actions 🚀

Azure Container Apps is a managed service that simplifies the deployment of containerized applications without requiring any prior knowledge or experience with Kubernetes. You can focus on your application, and the service handles the underlying infrastructure. Additionally, GitHub Actions is a powerful automation tool that can be used to build, test, and deploy your code. By combining Azure Container Apps with GitHub Actions, you can automate your entire deployment workflow, making it more efficient and easier to manage. In this talk, we'll provide you with practical examples and best practices to get started with Azure Container Apps and GitHub Actions, regardless of your level of experience.

Modern continous delivery on Azure Kubernetes Service

Continuous delivery (CD) might be a challenging and daunting task to set up and maintain based on 1000+ lines of pipeline code - but it doesn’t have to be this way. Modern tools can make your application deployment and delivery process an efficient, quick, and sustainable commodity without requiring a lot of configuration.

In this talk you will learn 1) how to employ new delivery models such as blue/green deployments, and 2) how to integrate quality gates into pipelines to ensure no bad code changes can make it to production. We are going to use the open-source tool Keptn that is based on SRE principles to define delivery and operation workflows and will be doing a live deployment with quality gates on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Oh Keptn, my Keptn: A data driven way to DevOps & SRE automation

Keptn, a CNCF project, is currently being adopted by DevOps & SRE teams around the world helping them reduce custom delivery and operations scripting by up to 90%. A prominent local example is Raiffeisen Software who are automating their release validation process with Keptn.
Keptn is a control plane that runs on Kubernetes (such as AKS). At its core it uses an event-driven engine connecting your existing DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, JMeter, Prometheus, Terraform, Jira … ). At the core of the orchestration it follows SRE practices by automatically evaluating SLOs (Service Level Objectives) to make data driven decisions on how to orchestrate your delivery and operational processes!
Join this session where Juergen Etzlstorfer and Andreas Grabner, both Keptn Maintainers, explain the core use cases, how the Azure community is adopting it and how you can get started in minutes.
