Streamlining Sales Orders: AI Agents Coming Soon to Business Central.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way businesses operate, and with the introduction of AI Agents in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, tasks that once required manual intervention can now be automated. These AI Agents can autonomously execute assigned tasks, respond to various events and inputs, and adapt based on the data they receive—often without requiring any user input. When necessary, they will engage the user for assistance, ensuring that the process runs smoothly and according to business needs. In this context, Business Central’s new Sales Order Agent promises to significantly simplify the sales order process by automating the creation of orders directly from customer emails.

How It will work?
The Sales Order Agent in Business Central will carry out the following steps automatically:
1. Receive Sales Requests: The agent will monitor a shared company mailbox for incoming customer emails that contain item requests.
2. Identify the Customer: It will identify the customer from the list of registered accounts in Business Central.
3. Draft Sales Quote: The agent will draft a sales quote based on the items requested in the email.
Here manual intervention for quote modification and approval may come if we want. That we can configure.
4. Verify Item Availability: The agent will verify stock availability and adjust the quote accordingly.
5. Send for Approval: The drafted quote will be forwarded to the customer for approval.
6. Sales Order Conversion: Once the customer confirms the quote, the agent will convert it into a sales order and send the confirmation to the customer.
Here again if we need control of releasing sales order and approval then we can configure to have manual intervention.

This innovative feature will be available in Public Preview for the US region starting February 2025. It promises to revolutionize the sales order process by reducing manual effort and increasing operational efficiency.
