Dr. Karen Sarafian is a long-time K12 educator and current assistant professor of education and leadership at University of the Pacific. Committed to innovation for continuous growth and positive change, Karen earned the Doctor of Research Innovation and Practice award for her doctoral study focused on an out-of-school-time social-emotional learning program for elementary students. As Director of Innovation and Impact for the non-profit she co-founded, her consulting work emphasizes SEL support and development of the many dimensions of wellness in each child, family, school, and community. Karen has also served as educational coach and consultant, collaborating with schools and districts to create and sustain systems change. Karen’s approach to teaching and learning is based on a WITH mindset. By working alongside youth and adults to envision possibilities rather than limitations, her goal is to inspire each towards personal, educational, and societal growth and transformation.
