Karl Smith is United Kingdom based duel citizen (UK and EU) working globally specialising in strategic leadership, strategy, planning and design that informs and supports best in class customer engagement, retention and market capture. He is well known for Agile methodologies, CX analytics, UX methods and enterprise technology across multiple industries for both colleague, customer and enterprise objective realisation. He has written and published several books on both Agile and Human-Centered Design and has been blogging since 2001. He is also academically published regarding eCommerce principles and guided interaction. He holds a BA in Design from Middlesex University, London and an MSc in Computer Science from Napier University, Edinburgh. He was recognised for his eminence in Design and Computing by the British Computer Society in 2011 with a Professional Fellowship.

In 2006 he Founded Agile World Consulting in the USA later forming Agile World as a nonprofit in 2020 as a co-founder with Sabrina Noto after the planned 20 years celebration of Agile in the Agile20Reflect Festival.

In 2023, he launched the Customer Agility Framework, integrating AI and UX research to transform customer requirements into actionable strategies. Karl has been instrumental in the evolution of UX, moving from usability UPA diagnostics to UXPA UX strategy and design practices after engaging with the organisation.
